Ghana's national Badminton team took a giant step of qualifying to the 2018 commonwealth game in Australia by sweeping victories in the Africa Under 19 Badminton championship in Ivory coast.

Two gold, Silva and bronze in the men's doubles , men's singles ensured The 7-member junior team  left the Forum de l’Universite de Cocody in Abidjan with much to smile at.

Top seed Abraham Ayittey brushed aside Mohammed Kamel of Egypt 21-17, 21-17 to win gold.Abraham Ayittey received all the applauds against his Egyptian counterpart as he showed some brilliant skills to out class his challenger in the men's singles finals.

Daniel Doe and Ebenezer Andrews fought back from a game down to win gold in a 2-1 of three sets against Abraham Ayittey and Emmanuel Botwe in an all Ghanaian doubles finals.

But Grace Attipaka and Eyram Migdodzi failed to win Ghana's third gold as they were beaten by Halla Bouksani and Linda Mazri of Algeria in the women's doubles finals.

Out of the six countries which participated in the six nations championship, host ivory coast and Benin failed to win a single medal in the all juniors tournament while  the the same venue Togo were reward with silver medal for placing third in the women's doubles.

The seniors games will commence on Thursday at the same venue.
