Government has affirmed its commitment to make Ghana an aviation hub in the subregion.

It is for this reason the government is creating an enabling environment for the expansion of the airline industry in the country.

“And as part of this objective, a lot of expansion works are ongoing in the country’s airports,” the Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, has stated.

He was speaking in Accra during a courtesy call on him by the Regional Manager of American Airlines, Mr Mark Danis.

Mr Danis, who is in charge of Africa, Middle East, Asia and part of Europe, was at the seat of government to officially inform the government of his new appointment and operations plans for American Airlines.

Activities

Mr Debrah said Ghana had been following the activities of American Airlines, “because as a country, we want to expand the aviation industry.”

He observed that operations in the airline industry were becoming keener.

According to Mr Debrah, it is the wish of the President that American Airlines will bring their carriers to Ghana.

“Anything that we have to do as a government to support you to be able to operate smoothly in Ghana we will do,” he said.

American Airlines

Mr Danis said making trips across the globe had made him to realise that American Airlines were a community that brought people together.

He explained that the visit was part of his familiarisations tour of the country, and indicated that American Airlines were delighted to be in Ghana.
