Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is set to name his final 23 players for the 2019 AFCON on Monday June 10, 2019.

Appiah initially named a 29 man provisional for pre-tournament camping which is already underway in Dubai, UAE.

A knee injury to St. Gallen defender Musah Nuhu has forced him to pull out from the squad which has decreased the number of players in camp to 28 players.

Five players will be cut from the team that will be looking to end Ghana’s 37-year wait for a trophy.

The Black Stars boss is expected to use the friendly against Namibia today to assess some players who are looking to stake a claim for a spot in the team.

The final friendly game will be against South Africa on June 14 before the team departs to Egypt for the tournament.

Ghana has been paired in Group F alongside defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau.
