Ghana has confirmed 21 new cases of Mpox, raising the total number of confirmed infections to 467, according to the latest update from the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
The death toll remains at one, and no patients are currently hospitalised. However, health authorities remain on high alert as the virus has now been detected in all 16 regions of the country, prompting growing concern over its continued spread.
Although the government has reportedly secured Mpox vaccines, the GHS has yet to confirm when they will arrive or when a national vaccination rollout will begin.
Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, primarily spreads through close physical contact.
Health officials are urging the public to remain vigilant, practice proper hygiene, and seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms such as fever, rash, headache, swollen lymph nodes, or muscle pain.
