Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Doha has called on all Ghanaian citizens living in Qatar to register with the Embassy as part of heightened emergency preparedness efforts.
In a statement issued on Monday, March 2, 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Doha said the directive has become necessary due to rising tensions and unrest within the region, which could require swift communication or possible evacuation measures.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Doha hereby urges all Ghanaian nationals residing in the State of Qatar who have not registered to immediately do so, as part of ongoing emergency preparedness measures,” the statement read.
Officials explained that compiling an updated database of Ghanaian nationals will allow the mission to quickly disseminate critical information, provide assistance, and coordinate evacuation arrangements if circumstances demand.
The directive applies to all Ghanaians in Qatar, including students, workers, families, and short-term visitors. Affected individuals have been asked to complete an online registration form available through the Embassy’s official communication platforms.
The Embassy assured nationals that all personal information submitted will be treated with strict confidentiality and used solely for official emergency and consular purposes.
It further indicated that regular updates will be shared through its official channels as the situation in the region evolves.
