Ghana FA order Tom Strand to pay Medeama GHc 35,000 as compensation for flouting contract agreement
Coach of Accra Great Olympics Tom Strand has been asked by the Ghana FA to pay Medeama SC an amount of GHc 35,000 for violating his contract agreement with them.
The 35 year old broke a two-year contract he had with the Tarkwa based side when he abandoned the team in South Africa after his side lost 3-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in a 2016 CAF Confederation Cup play-off tie.
He left the Ghanaian football terrain returning after about 10 months to sign another contract with Olympics. A move the Mauves and Yellow team tried in vain to block.
The Status Committee of the FA ruled on Thursday that the 35-year-old was in breach when he walked on his two-year contract without following due process.
That was after Meadeama SC forwarded the matter to the football governing body after failing to get Olympics to see reason with them.
Medeama are reported to be unhappy with the decision and may appeal despite being victorious.
