The chairman of the church of pentecost, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye has called out Ghana’s politicians for continuously flooding the citizenry with huge promises.
Apostle Nyamekye underscored the need for politicians to reduce the vague promises they made to the people since those promises only disturbed the nation.
The made this known during the 12th Annual Thanks Giving Service of the Jospong Group of Companies.
“You are disturbing us too much. Do the little that you can do in all humility and give Ghana some space to grow - Apostle Nyamekye"
Apostle Nyamekye in his speech, stepped up his criticism of Ghanaian politicians, demanding an immediate halt to the era of mismanaging the country’s resources
“May I advise our brothers, our politicians, our ministers that don’t eat the grains today, it is for the future. Sow them. It is not for you. Ghana is not your own, we are still in the sowing business.
But, if we want to eat the very seed that we have to sow then we should forget about tomorrow. We will be frustrating our children and our children’s children - Apostle Nyamekye”
Apostle Nyamakye’s reproach of what is best described as “disturbance”, comes days after the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) observed that the government’s programmes and policies such as the Free Senior High School, Planting for Food and Jobs, among others were too many and unsustainable.
The Institute thus recommended a pruning of the numerous social intervention programmes government being implemented to avoid a total breakdown of the country.
The church of pentecost chair therefore urged Ghanaians to be patient and allow the country’s developmental cycle to take a natural course saying: “Sometimes we are too impatient as Ghanaians. We cannot become America in a day, in a year. So sometimes we have been disturbing ourselves and our politicians too disturb us.
