The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the resumption of all league competitions, including the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, on the weekend of Friday, December 13, 2024.
This follows a planned break to enable players, coaches, football administrators, and stakeholders to participate in Ghana's 2024 General Election, held on Saturday, December 7.
In a statement, the GFA reaffirmed its commitment to civic engagement:
“The Ghana Football Association wishes to inform all members, stakeholders, and the general public that all of its competitions will go on a planned break after this weekend's matches to enable all participants in football to perform their civic duties in the national General Elections on December 7, 2024.”
Upcoming Super Clash: Asante Kotoko vs. Hearts of Oak
The highlight of the league’s return is the season’s first Super Clash between arch-rivals Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
The much-anticipated match will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Both teams are expected to come out in full force following the break, with the clash being a key fixture in their quest for dominance in the Ghana Premier League.
