Ghana has maintained its position in the latest FIFA rankings, which were released by FIFA on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Despite achieving two victories against the Central African Republic in the final 2023 AFCON qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium and securing a friendly win against Liberia, the Black Stars did not move up the rankings. They are currently ranked 60th in the world and 11th in Africa.

Morocco has climbed two places to 13th, retaining its status as the leading African nation in the rankings. Meanwhile, the reigning African champions, Senegal, dropped two places to 20th in the world but remain among the top 20.

Tunisia has broken into the top 30, securing the 29th position, while Mali and Cote d’Ivoire moved up to 49th and 50th positions, respectively, breaking into the top 50 ranked teams. They replaced Greece and Paraguay.

As a result, CAF (Confederation of African Football) now boasts nine teams in the top 50, which is an increase of two compared to the previous rankings.

Guinea-Bissau made the most significant improvement in the rankings, moving up six places to reach the 106th position.

It's worth noting that Argentina continues to hold the top spot in the rankings, followed by France and Brazil. The top 10 teams in the world also include England, Belgium, Croatia, Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain.
