Officials from Ghana’s diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirates have visited members of the Ghana women's national football team as the team remains unable to return home due to airspace disruptions linked to the conflict between the United States and Iran.

‎In a statement shared from their camp, the Black Queens said the delegation reassured them of the government’s commitment to their safety and welfare during the uncertain period.

The visiting team included Consul and Head of Chancery Abdul-Jalil Sigli Yakubu Abdulai, Consular Officer Percy Okudzeto and Head of Transport Anas Shaibu. According to the players, the officials offered words of encouragement and updated them on ongoing efforts to address the situation.

‎“The delegation visited us to assure us of the government’s support and commitment to our safety and welfare,” the team said.

‎The Queens have been in the UAE for the Pink Ladies Cup and were preparing for upcoming international assignments when escalating tensions in the region led to flight disruptions, leaving them temporarily stranded.

While there has been no direct threat reported to the team’s immediate surroundings, the uncertainty surrounding travel arrangements has heightened anxiety among players and staff.

‎The visit from Ghana’s mission is expected to provide some reassurance as authorities continue to monitor developments and work towards a safe return for the squad.

‎For now, football remains secondary as the Black Queens focus on safety, unity and awaiting further updates.
