Ghana Post is cautioning the general public against imposters who promise to generate the Ghana Post Address system in their homes for money.

According to authorities of the Ghana post, such persons are taking advantage of the recent exercise being conducted by their outfit to extort money from vulnerable citizens.

Management of Ghana Post has begun a nationwide exercise to register Ghanaians on its digital address system.

Speaking in an interview with Citi News in Koforidua as part of a public sensitisation exercise by Ghana Post, the Corporate Head of Communications at Ghana Post, Kobihemaa Osisiadan Bekwoen, admonished the general public to be vigilant and mindful of such persons.

“Tagging plates is optional so if you don’t want it and we take you through the processes, and you know how to generate your digital address, or we help you generate it we write it. If you want us to write on your wall that is your request, we will write to you. If you want to save on your phone, we will help you save it.”

GhanaPost GPS charging GHc50, GHc100 to tag properties

The Ghana Post Digital Address Tagging plate is being made available to residences for a fee upon request.

Ghana Post is said to be charging GHc50 for residential buildings and GHc 100 for commercial offices.

“The Ghana Post Digital Address Tagging Plate displays your digital address beautifully on your building. Have you generated your digital address? Let’s tag your residential building for 50 Ghana cedis and 100 Ghana cedis for commercial buildings. Pay at your nearest post office. Our field agents are moving from house to house to assist you,” Ghana Post stated on its GhanaPost GPS page on Facebook.
