Albert Amoah says a deep sense of unfinished business convinced him to return to Asante Kotoko, as the striker sets his sights on winning the Ghana Premier League title with the Kumasi giants.

The 25-year-old has rejoined the Porcupine Warriors on loan from Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi, making a swift return to familiar territory just months after leaving Ghana.

Amoah’s move back follows Al Ahly Benghazi’s exit from the CAF Confederation Cup, where they suffered a heavy defeat to Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club. With his Libyan adventure cut short, the forward says his heart was always pulling him back to Kumasi.

Speaking to Kotoko’s official media team, Amoah revealed that his biggest motivation is to finally lift the league title, an achievement that has so far eluded him.

“I decided to return to Asante Kotoko to finish what I started,” he said. “I’ve never won the Ghana Premier League before, and that is one of the main reasons I came back.”

Kotoko remain in contention in a tightly packed title race, and Amoah believes the season is far from decided.

“When you look at the league table, it’s not over,” he added. “There are still many matches to play, and we will work together as a team to make sure we win it.”

The striker’s return is expected to boost Kotoko’s attacking options as they push for a strong finish to the campaign. Amoah could make his return debut this weekend when the Porcupine Warriors host Basake Holy Stars in their Matchday 20 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

For Amoah, the mission is clear, to turn unfinished business into silverware in red and white.
