Ghana international defender Nicholas Opoku has officially signed with Turkish Superliga club Kasimpasa SK.
The 27-year-old center-back joins on a free transfer after leaving French Ligue 2 side Amiens SC, where he spent three seasons.
Opoku's move to Kasimpasa was finalized on Monday during a signing ceremony at the Turgay Ciner Sports Facilities.
Before signing, he successfully completed his medical examination at Liv Hospital Vadi Istanbul.
After the 2023-24 season, Opoku departed Amiens upon the expiration of his contract. During his time at the French club, he made 23 appearances in Ligue 2 last season, contributing to the team's defensive efforts.
Over his three seasons with Amiens, Opoku played in 102 matches across all competitions, having joined the club from Italian Serie A side Udinese Calcio in July 2021.
His experience and defensive prowess were key assets for the French side during his tenure.
Before his European journey, Opoku began his professional career in the Ghana Premier League with Berekum Chelsea before moving to Club Africain in Tunisia.
His performances in Tunisia earned him a transfer to Udinese in July 2018, marking the start of his European adventure.
On the international stage, Opoku has earned 18 caps for the Ghana national team, the Black Stars, since making his debut in July 2017 in an international friendly against the USA.
His experience and leadership will be vital as he embarks on this new chapter with Kasimpasa SK in the Turkish Superliga.
