Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Bonsu has completed a transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Ain FC for the upcoming season.

Bonsu joins Al Ain on a free transfer after a brief stint with Iraqi side Naft Al-Basra.

He had signed with Naft in January 2024 following his departure from Al-Bataeh SC in the UAE, where his one-year contract had expired.

Previously, Bonsu made a name for himself at Esperance Sportive de Tunis, whom he joined in July 2019 after a standout season with Asante Kotoko.

His successful performance led to a transfer to Egyptian Premier League club Ceramica Cleopatra for approximately €290,000 the following year.

Al Ain FC, based in Al Atawlah, Al Qara, Al Bahah, was established in 1978 and plays its home games at the King Saud Sport City Stadium.

Competing in the First Division League, the second tier of Saudi football, Al Ain is aiming for promotion to the Saudi Pro League this season.

Bonsu is anticipated to play a pivotal role for Al Ain in their bid to secure top-flight status by the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
