Ghanaian striker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu continued his fine form in the Japan J2 League, scoring for the second consecutive match to help Shimizu S-Pulse secure a commanding 3-0 victory over Ventforet Kofu on matchday 27.

The 25-year-old forward entered the game as a substitute in the 83rd minute, replacing Koya Kitagawa, and made an immediate impact by scoring his second goal in just four appearances for the club.

Shimizu S-Pulse took the lead in the 32nd minute when Carlinhos Junior capitalized on a precise setup from Reon Yamahara. The Brazilian forward's goal put the team in control early on.

In the 57th minute, Lucas Braga doubled S-Pulse's advantage, further solidifying their dominance. The Brazilian forward’s strike ensured the team went into halftime with a comfortable lead.

Yakubu capped off the victory in the 90th minute, finding the back of the net from a tight angle after receiving a well-placed pass from Shinya Yajima.

His goal sealed the 3-0 win and highlighted his growing influence within the team.

With this win, Shimizu S-Pulse strengthened their position at the top of the J2 League table, amassing 58 points after 27 games, as they continue their push for promotion to the top tier of Japanese football.
