Ghanaian football prodigy Fatawu Ganiwu showcased his talents for Chelsea's U18 side on Saturday in a match against Manchester United U18s.
The 16-year-old midfielder, currently on trial with the Premier League giants, has been training with Chelsea’s youth team and has quickly made an impression.
Ganiwu, who previously had trial stints with French side RC Lens and German club RB Leipzig, caught Chelsea’s attention with his remarkable performances.
His standout display in a recent friendly match against Sheffield United, which ended in a 1-1 draw, further solidified his reputation among Chelsea’s coaching staff.
Following his involvement with the U18 squad, Ganiwu had the unique opportunity to watch Chelsea's first team in action as they faced Inter Milan on Sunday.
Chelsea, a club renowned for scouting and nurturing young talent from African academies, is closely monitoring Ganiwu’s progress during his trial. Joe Shields, Chelsea's Co-director of Recruitment and Talent, is overseeing the trial process.
Should Ganiwu impress the club's decision-makers, he could be offered a deal with the English powerhouse.
In addition to Ganiwu, another Ghanaian youngster, Vincent Mobilla, is also under trial at Chelsea.
Both players are eager to make their mark and potentially secure moves to the prestigious club as they continue to develop their promising careers.
