Ghanaian international striker Christopher Antwi-Adjei has officially signed with Bundesliga 2 side FC Schalke 04, the club announced.
The 30-year-old forward joins the Gelsenkirchen-based team on a two-year contract, extending until June 30, 2026.
Antwi-Adjei arrives at Schalke on a free transfer following his departure from Bundesliga side VfL Bochum this summer.
He will don the number 18 jersey for the Royal Blues as they aim to bolster their squad for the ongoing season.
Expressing his excitement after signing the deal, Antwi-Adjei said, "I’m proud to be able to represent the Royal Blues on the pitch in the future.
The club’s management team laid out a clear plan of how I will be able to help the team with my experience and quality. That’s exactly what I want to show the fans."
Sporting director Marc Wilmots praised the signing, stating, "Christopher’s style of play and his personality are a good fit for our team.
His pace and agility will help add more options to our game. He will also be able to help us with the experience that he brings to the table, both on and off the pitch.
Christopher is eager to join us in taking up this new, special task of helping Schalke to continue moving forward.”
Antwi-Adjei, who previously played for SC Paderborn 07, has been capped three times by Ghana's senior national team, the Black Stars.
His move to Schalke marks a new chapter in his career as he brings his experience and skill to aid the club's ambitions in the German second tier.
