Ghanaian youngster Jeremiah Mensah had a great game and made a goal contribution, providing an assist for Bayer Leverkusen’s Under-19 side despite their narrow 3-2 defeat to Villarreal U19 in the UEFA Youth League.

The teenager set up one of Leverkusen’s goals in a tightly contested match on Wednesday, continuing an impressive run of form in youth competitions this season. Although Leverkusen fell short against Spanish opponents, Mensah’s performance stood out as a bright moment on an otherwise disappointing afternoon.

The assist takes his tally to five goals and one assist in all competitions this season, underlining his growing influence in Leverkusen’s youth setup.

Mensah, who holds both Ghanaian and German ties, shares the Leverkusen U19 dressing room with his elder brother, Naba Mensah. The siblings also spent time together in Ghana during a visit in December, highlighting the strong family bond that continues to shape their football journeys.

Despite the defeat, Mensah’s consistency and development remain encouraging signs as he continues to make his mark at youth level in Europe.
