Ghanaian youngster Mathew Anim Cudjoe departs Dundee United
19th June 2024
Ghanaian winger Mathew Anim Cudjoe has officially parted ways with Scottish side Dundee United following the expiration of his contract.
Despite helping the team secure promotion to the Scottish Premier League, Cudjoe has opted to explore new opportunities rather than renewing his contract with the club.
Cudjoe, 20, spent two-and-a-half years at Dundee United, where his speed and skill significantly contributed to the team's successes.
The club had extended a contract offer reflecting their financial and footballing vision for the young player, but Cudjoe decided to move on.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Dundee United confirmed his departure: "We can confirm Mathew Cudjoe has decided to call time on his Tannadice career.
The club made an offer which reflected our vision for Mathew in both financial and footballing terms, however, the Ghanaian has decided to pursue his career elsewhere."
Before joining Dundee United, Cudjoe played for Ghanaian clubs Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities, showcasing his talent on the local scene before moving abroad.
He played 22 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists.
