WAFA Academy product and Ghanaian international, Yassin Mohammed has been reinstated into Malmo first team setup.
In May 2025, the 18-year-old attacker signed for the Swedish outfit from WAFA and as his path into Professional European football looked almost uncertain due to stalls with his development with the U19 side, he has reignited the spirit and regained the momentum through his resilience and determination and has since been training regularly with the first team and looks to be settling in well.
Before his signing his professional deal in May, the Ghanaian prodigy had been with the U19 side throughout an extended trial period where he showcased outstanding performances in all his trial games, catching the eyes of a number of top European clubs before securing a deal with the Swedish top club.
Yassin was discovered in Ghana by Malmo chief scout, Jeffery Aubynn during a trip to Ghana as stated by Malmo assistant sporting director, Ola Toivonen during the Ghanaian’s unveiling in May 2025.
“We believe he has excellent timing in runs, and possesses significant development potential within our system.” Toivonen added.
