A Ghanaian is one of eleven members of the U.S military to be initiated as  citizens of the United States of America.

They included former and serving members of the U.S military hailing from the Caribbean to Europe to southeast Asia.

The Coast Guard hosted the ceremony aboard its historic tall ship Eagle.One of the newly naturalized citizens is a Ghanaian, who serves in the Army, while the others include Coast Guardsmen,retired and serving members of the Navy, Marines and Army.

Aside the Ghanaian, the newly naturalized members come from Belize, the Dominican Republic, Kenya, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago and the United Kingdom.

All live in the New York metro area.

The cutter Eagle was built in Germany in 1936 and has served as a Coast Guard classroom-at-sea since 1946. It's the largest tall ship flying the U.S. flag.
