Ghanaians living in the United Kingdom (UK) in a show of solidarity have joined the #StopGalamseyNow and #FreeTheCitizens demonstrations.
The Ghanaian nationals embarked on their exercise at the High Commission in London on Saturday, October 5.
This coincided with the final stretch of a three-day anti-galamsey demonstration held in Ghana and led by the Concerned Citizens Against Galamsey.
They wielded placards to re-echo the call for an immediate action from government to combat illegal mining, which has caused severe deforestation, water pollution, and displacement of local communities.
Additionally, they called on the government to release the Democracy Hub protesters who have been detained in police and prison custody.
Photos from the protest have gone viral on social media.
