Despite suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to Namibia in the second leg at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, Ghana's Black Queens have successfully secured a spot in the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

With a 3-1 victory in the first leg in Accra last Friday, Ghana's aggregate score of 3-2 ensures their qualification for the WAFCON for the first time since 2018.

Coach Nora Hauptle made strategic changes to the team, bringing in Stella Nyamekye and Ernestina Abambila.

The match saw an energetic start with Vivien Konadu Adjei making a close attempt to score in the 7th minute. However, Namibia managed to find the net in the 22nd minute, taking the lead in the second leg.

The second half witnessed an open and explosive game, with both teams showcasing determination and purposeful attacks.

Namibia relied on strength and long balls, causing challenges for Ghana's defense. Despite the intense exchanges, neither team managed to score in the second half.

Namibia's Zenatha Coleman came close to doubling the lead, but Ghana's goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan made a crucial save.

In the 74th minute, Ghana had a counter-attack opportunity, with Doris Boaduwaa setting up Anastasia Achiaa, whose powerful shot went wide.

The final fifteen minutes saw both teams fighting hard, but no additional goals were scored. The match concluded with a 1-0 victory for Namibia in the second leg.

While this result ended Ghana's ten-game winning streak under Coach Nora Hauptle, the Black Queens' overall performance secured their qualification for the 2024 WAFCON, scheduled to be held in Morocco early next year.
