As the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) approaches in Ivory Coast, a recent analysis by the UK's Bettingsites.co.uk has positioned Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars, as possessing the fifth most valuable squad.

The evaluation considered the market values of players across all 24 participating teams.

Nigeria secures the top spot with the most valuable squad at €349 million, buoyed by the substantial transfer value of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, currently valued at €110 million—surpassing the total values of 14 participating teams.

FIFA World Cup semi-finalists Morocco claim the second position on the list with a squad value of €347.4 million.

The host nation, Ivory Coast, boasts a squad worth €334.58 million, while defending champions Senegal's squad is valued at €274.4 million.

Ghana holds the fifth spot among the most valuable squads at the AFCON, with Mohammed Kudus emerging as the Black Stars' most valuable player with a market value of €45 million.

The top 10 list of the most expensive squads in the AFCON is rounded out by Algeria, Cameroon, Mali, Egypt, and DR Congo, in that order.
