Ghana’s embassy in Iran to reopen on September 16 – Foreign Minister

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced that Ghana’s embassy in Iran will fully reopen on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, following a three-month closure due to security concerns.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series in Accra on Monday, September 15, Mr. Ablakwa confirmed that adequate security measures have been implemented to protect diplomatic staff.

“I can announce that after three months of closure of our embassy in Iran, we shall fully reopen tomorrow, the 16th of September 2025.

“Measures have been put in place to guarantee the safety of our diplomatic staff,” the Minister stated.

The embassy had been temporarily shut down as a precaution in response to heightened regional tensions.
