Ghana’s Julian Nunoo appointed as referee for CAF Champions League clash between Gor Mahia and El Merreikh

Ghanaian referee Julian Nunoo Nii Akwa has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate the CAF Champions League preliminary round second leg match between Kenya's Gor Mahia and South Sudan's El Merreikh.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
Julian Nunoo, recently recognized as the best referee of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, will lead the officiating team.
He will be supported by fellow Ghanaians Kwasi Acheampong Brobbey as Assistant Referee I, Theophilus Aberenga Akugre as Assistant Referee II, and Charles Benle Bulu as the Fourth Official. The Match Commissioner for the game is Michel Gasingwa from Rwanda.
This appointment reflects CAF's confidence in Nunoo's abilities, highlighting his growing reputation on the continental stage.
