Ghanaian attacker Michael Sarpong recorded his name on the score sheet for Young Africans SC in their 2-1 win over Ruvu Shooting Stars in the Tanzanian Premier League on Sunday evening.
The goal was the former Liberty Professionals and Dreams FC striker’s third league of the season for the Green and Yellows since joining them at the start of the season.
The 24-year-old forward opened the scoring just 36 minutes into the game when he rose highest in the box to meet a cross with a bullet header to make to put Yanga ahead.
The visitors struck back in the second half after 61 minutes of action but Tuisila Kisinda restored the Green and Yellows lead four minutes later to make it 2-1 to the home team.
Yanga remain unbeaten in the league after 14 matches with ten wins and four draws this campaign as they sit at the apex of league with 34 points.
Meanwhile, Sarpong’s compatriot and Yanga SC skipper Moro Lamine also enjoy full throttle as the Dare-Salem outfit continue their terrific start to the season.
