Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has opened up on his relationship with the Serbia- the country in which he plies his football trade.

The Red star Belgrade forward is one player from Ghana who seems to be enjoying his his stay in the Eastern European nation and has revealed why that is so.

" When you are in another country and people love you, the way they treat you and the way they talk to you tells you how much they care about you", Boakye-Yiadom said in a revealing interview with Blicspor.

"not only because you play for their club, but because you are in their country.

"I was born in Ghana, so of course I am more connected to Ghana, and one of the reasons why I have a great connection with Serbia and its people is that I lead a simple life, and when so, everyone wants to be with you", he added.

On his injury woes, that has seen him record limited appearances this year both in the domestic and Champions league, Boakye-Yiadom said he has put that behind him and is fully focused on the task ahead.

"I'm 100% ready for the Champions League and the season to go on. Even you and I can play right now, if you're ready to play football with me of course", he said.

There was no football on Sunday at the Pavle Korcagin Tavern, but it will be played on Wednesday at the Rajko Mitic Stadium, when Red Star will welcome Machva in the postponed Serbian Cup match.

The champion of the country after the game of the eighth Cup final, plays Superliga derby in Nis on Saturday, against Radnicki, and next Tuesday, Bayern Munich arrives in Belgrade.

Boakye-Yiadom will try to take the chance to further appeal to Red Star fans and improve their goal scoring performance.
