Ghanaian midfielder Yaw Yeboah has celebrated another major achievement with Columbus Crew, as the Ohio-based club clinched the 2024 Leagues Cup.

Although Yeboah watched from the bench, he was part of the squad as Columbus Crew delivered a strong second-half performance to secure victory over LAFC. This match was a rematch of last year’s MLS Championship final.

Columbus Crew’s triumph was fueled by a brace from MVP Cucho Hernandez and a goal from Jacen Russell-Rowe, despite a consolation goal from former Arsenal and AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud for Los Angeles FC.

With this win, Yeboah becomes the first Ghanaian player to win the Leagues Cup, adding this accolade to the MLS title he secured with Crew last season.

Columbus Crew, currently third in the Eastern Conference, has three games in hand and remains in contention for the top spot as the regular season progresses.

Yeboah, who joined Columbus Crew in 2021 from Polish club Wisla Krakow, has become an integral part of the team and continues to add to his impressive list of achievements.
