Lawyers for Frederick Kumi say they are taking steps to fulfil bail conditions set by the High Court after their client was granted bail in the sum of GH¢30 million with two sureties to be justified.
Lead counsel, Sani Abdul Salam, explained that the team is working to secure a certified true copy of the ruling to begin the formal process of executing the bail requirements.
He noted that the bail was granted primarily to ensure the accused remains available for court proceedings as legal processes surrounding his extradition continue.
Despite the ruling, Abu Trica remains in custody as he challenges attempts to extradite him over allegations linked to an $8 million romance scam and wire fraud case.
The case has seen multiple legal applications, including efforts by the defence to halt the extradition process.
Earlier, the Gbese Circuit Court dismissed an application seeking to stop the extradition and ruled that he could be handed over to United States authorities.
However, the court granted a 15-day window for him to contest the decision through a habeas corpus application.
The next hearing date is yet to be announced as proceedings continue.
