The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed two additional deaths linked to Mpox, bringing the country’s cumulative death toll to six.

In its latest Mpox situation update dated December 22, 2025, the GHS also reported 13 new cases, pushing the total number of confirmed infections nationwide to 947 since the outbreak began.

The Service noted that no Mpox patients are currently on admission, but advised the public to remain cautious, particularly during the festive season. It urged people to avoid overcrowded places where possible and to adhere to preventive measures.

The GHS further encouraged individuals who experience symptoms to report early and seek medical attention promptly to help limit the spread of the virus.

Mpox is primarily transmitted through close contact with an infected person. Common symptoms include fever, rash, headache, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and fatigue.
