GHS10K spent on food for 40, not 8 – Maritime Authority
26th October 2018
The Ghana Maritime Authority has denied spending GHS10,652 on food for eight people in a single meeting.
According to the Authority, the facts of the matter have been “misrepresented.”
The allegation was first made by musician Kwame A Plus on his Facebook page.
The Authority, in a statement, said the memo making the rounds on social media, “have been doctored”.
According to the Authority, the amount quoted in the memo was the cost of food for different meetings (management and stakeholders) held on 31 October 2017; 6 November 2017; and 8 November 2017; and could not have been for eight persons in a single meeting as purported in the publication.
The statement said the members for the meetings numbered over 40 at a sitting, aside from the management team.
“The amount could not have been the cost of food for eight persons in a meeting as being portrayed,” the statement added.
