Former Olympics and Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye says he feels young and is willing to play for the rainbow colours team once again if afforded the opportunity.

The former Black Stars full back believes we prematurely retire players even before their sell by date.

Speaking in an interview with Accra based Asempa Fm, Dan says he is fit and can’t wait for the chance to play for the phobians.

He adds that the Hearts team is made up of too many youngsters and some experienced heads are needed at the back.

“The Hearts of oak team need some two or three experienced heads in the team. The team is very good as for that I must confess.

They have told me that they will speak to the coach so that I can come and help but I can’t force myself on them but If they need me I’m ready to serve.”he said

Dan Quaye then pleaded with the supporters to give veterans like him who have the passion to play the chance to showcase their talent and help the league.

Warning that they should desist from insults and name calling of these veterans as most of them are responsible men who are family men and not coming to play because of poverty

“The supporters should allow us senior players who have the passion the chance to play and help the Ghana league rise.

"I’m a responsible father with a family my kids will not be happy when they hear people insulting their father so the supporters should be educated to stop the insults and name calling."

"I’m not returning because of poverty but my passion for the game” he added.
