AS usually happens during the Christmas festivities, patrons are spoilt for choice with so many events taking place.
This year is not different and with a number of big shows lined up for our enjoyment, renowned sound engineer, Appiah Dankwa, popularly known as Appietus, has asked artistes who will perform at such events to give patrons their money’s worth with exciting performances.
According to him, it was annoying and boring for musicians to repeat the same stagecraft at different events.
“I can’t imagine seeing, for example, Kuami Eugene or KiDi repeating the same act at Decemba2Rememba, Rapperholic or Bhim Concert.
“For Christ’s sake, we pay to see these artistes to give us good shows and not to repeat one boring act at different events,” he told Showbiz.
In Appietus’ opinion, any artiste who disappointed his or her fans by performing poorly at different events ended up losing gigs and a bit of his or her fan base.
“If I am an event organiser and I watch an artiste flop at an event, there is no way I will feature that artiste on my show, especially if that is not the first time that artiste has flopped,” he said.
Appietus said artistes needed to rehearse all the time and should know when to give a particular performance at an event.
“The audience at a corporate event are not the same as the audience in a party and an artiste should know how to engage such audience at a particular point in time,” he said.
Away from that, Appietus spoke about his project to record artistes from across the country for free, saying he was done selecting 10 artistes from the Central Region.
The artistes are Samuel Ampah (Kahpun), Deglory Baidoo (Sticker Gh), Yahsay LN Clottey (Lovia), Etuahene Forjour (K. Forji) and Nana Gyappieh Aidoo(Gojit).
The rest are Ibrahim Odoom (IB Man), Wright Peter Morgan (Mr Loyalty), Francis Atiasah (Lyrical), Ali Arthur (Alisco Gh) and Ato Sunshine.
