The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a weather alert warning of an incoming rainstorm system moving westward from Nigeria and Benin toward Ghana, expected to affect several parts of the country in the coming hours.
According to GMet, the storm is forecast to bring widespread cloud formation, thunderstorms, and rainfall of varying intensities, potentially accompanied by moderate to strong winds.
The Agency cautioned that these weather conditions could pose risks to life and property, particularly through falling trees, damaged roofs, and disruptions to outdoor activities.
It also advised residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas to remain alert, as localized flooding could occur following heavy rainfall.
GMet urged the public to stay informed through official weather updates and to take necessary safety measures to minimize potential risks as the storm moves into the country.
