A major fire broke out Thursday afternoon at the Adabraka facility of DTRT Group, a leading textile and apparel manufacturer in Accra.

The blaze, which started around 3:30 p.m., sent thick plumes of smoke over the Graphic Press area and triggered a rapid response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). Seven fire engines were dispatched, and firefighters worked for hours to contain the flames.

By 5:30 p.m., the GNFS had successfully brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to adjacent buildings.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and no casualties had been reported as of Thursday evening.

DTRT Group, short for ‘Do the Right Thing’ is a joint venture involving Ghanaian, American, and German investors. The company is known for producing garments for export and providing thousands of jobs in Ghana’s growing apparel sector.
