This year's GNPC Ghana's Fastest Human finals ignited fireworks at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, last Saturday, producing new champions.

It was back to back 100 meter races to find who would be crowned Ghana’s Fastest Human 2016.

Earlier, Regional competitions had been held in all regions and it was the fastest 160 boys and girls in the, U-10, U-15, U-18 ‘& senior categories.

In the end, new champions emerge in all categories as last year’s winners were all beaten.  Ashanti Region's female champion, Kate Agyeman, beat the three times fastest lady Beatrice Gyaaman to take the senior female crown.

In the senior male division, Joseph Paul from KNUST, upset last year’s fastest human, Shadrack Opoku Agyeman to be crowned the fastest human in Ghana for 2016.

Another upset in the U-18 boys, the latest fastest sensation and favorite, Tamale 'Usain Bolt', was beaten by Sam Asare from Prempeh College.

 U-10 Girls- first Ellen Opoku (Ash) 13.30, second Love Akua Yankey (W/R) 13.56 and third Charity Dadzie (Ash) 13.59

U-15 Boys– first George Odoom (Ash) 11.20, second Arthur Isaac (Ash) 11.35 and third  Doe Sylvester (Ash) 13.37
