Newly crowned Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani GoldStars are weighing their options between the Accra Sports Stadium and Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi as their home ground for the upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.
After clinching their historic first-ever league title with a dominant 4-0 win over Accra Lions, GoldStars finished the 2024/25 season with 63 points, cementing their place at the top of Ghanaian football.
Chief Executive Officer Kwesi Adu confirmed the club is evaluating suitable venues for their continental fixtures, telling Asempa FM, “We are yet to decide on where we will play our CAF Champions League games. We are thinking about playing our games at the Accra Sports Stadium or the Baba Yara Stadium.”
He dismissed the Essipong and Cape Coast stadiums due to their current conditions, noting, “The Essipong Stadium is not in good shape and I am not sure about Cape Coast Stadium.”
GoldStars’ entry into Africa’s elite club competition marks a major milestone for the Bibiani-based club, who now face the challenge of navigating both domestic and continental campaigns for the first time in their history.
