Beginning Thursday, November 13, 2025, Ghanaians will pay a reduced passport application fee of GHS350, down from the previous GHC500, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced.
According to the Minister, the fee reduction is part of the government’s efforts to ease the financial burden on citizens and improve access to essential public services. The move also fulfils a government pledge to review passport processing costs and make travel documents more affordable.
In a statement posted on Facebook on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Mr. Ablakwa explained that the adjustment aims to encourage citizens to obtain valid passports through official channels while reducing reliance on middlemen and unauthorised agents.
The new fee structure will apply to all Passport Application Centres (PACs) across the country and covers standard passport application services.
