Two minutes after, Mawuli Wayo wasted a clear chance, firing over the bar, but moments later forced a defensive error from Roland Grippman. Wayo won possession inside the box and squared for Hamza Issah, who calmly finished to give Hearts the lead on the 6th minute.
On the 28th minute, Samartex goalkeeper Moses Zakari produced a brilliant stop to deny Martin Karikari’s curling effort, keeping his side in contention for a leveller.
In the second half, Hearts of Oak pressed for a second goal, with George Paaku dragging wide and Theophilus Collison’s lob landing on the roof of the net. Samartex threatened briefly but lacked precision in the final third.
