Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten run in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League came to a halt on Sunday, falling 1–0 to archrivals Asante Kotoko in a heated Week 9 Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The decisive moment came late in the first half when Guinean forward Morifing Donzo converted from the spot, handing Kotoko their second straight win after a 4–2 triumph over Karela United in Week 8.

- Sixth loss in last 12 home meetings vs Kotoko
- Fans left deflated after promising start to the season
“Everything is just treated with the attention it needs and this one is just of it, it’s a marathon season [and] I think that we will make amends,” Didi Dramani said.
The Phobians share 16 points with Samartex and GoldStars in fourth position, two behind Heart of Lions and Medeama and three adrift of leaders Aduana FC.
They will be battling it out on Matchday 10 away at Swedru All Blacks as they continue to fight back to retain their unbeaten run which was abated by sworn rivals Asante Kotoko on Matchday 9 on Sunday, November 9.
With three outstanding fixtures, Kotoko remain a dark horse in the title race, while Hearts must regroup quickly to stay in contention.
