Ghanaian top flight side, Hearts of Oak have reportedly reached an agreement with ex Black Stars player Ibrahim Tanko to take charge of the club's vacant coaching job.

Reports say the Accra based club have settled on the former Black Stars assistant as their new head coach and an official announcement is imminent.

Tanko is likely to assisted by former Phobian Stephen Appiah who has been a close ally for years.

Sources close to the club have revealed that both Tanko and Appiah met the board chairman of the club, Togbe Afedi over the weekend to finalize talks for the Hearts of Oak coaching role.

Tanko is currently the head coach of the Black Stars 'B' having previously handle the Ghana U23 team.

Appiah who was the Black Stars technical team coordinator is landing his first coaching job as deputy gaffer at his former club.

Hearts of Oak have been under the guidance of Coach Edward Odoom since match week two of the Ghana premier league and are currently lying ninth on the log with 17 points after twelve matches.

The Phobians have been without a substantive head coach after Coach Kim Grant was sacked in December last year.
