Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed relief after his side returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Eleven Wonders in the Ghana Premier League.

‎The win, secured on Friday in Tarkwa, brought an end to a frustrating run of six league matches without victory and lifted Medeama to the top of the table, at least temporarily, ahead of the remaining Week 27 fixtures.

‎“It’s very important that after six games without a win, we now have three points at home. It gives us a good feeling,” Tanko said in a post-match interview.

Despite Eleven Wonders’ position at the bottom of the table, Tanko was quick to acknowledge the challenge they posed, praising his players for managing the game effectively after taking a two-goal lead.

‎“They are a very good side, although they are at the bottom of the league. After going two goals up, we needed to manage the game, and the boys did well. We also had to be careful not to concede, and I think the players handled it very well,” he added.

‎The result offers a timely boost for Medeama as they look to build momentum in the closing stages of the season, with the title race still finely poised.
