Greek international of Ghanaian descent Andreas Tetteh struck twice for Panathinaikos F.C., but his brace was not enough to secure victory as they were held to a 2-2 draw by FC Viktoria Plzeň on Thursday night.

The visitors made the brighter start, taking the lead in the 11th minute to stun the home crowd. However, Tetteh responded in the 31st minute with a composed finish to bring Panathinaikos level before the break.

The 24-year-old forward struck again in the 61st minute, showing sharp movement and clinical precision to put the Greek side ahead and seemingly in control of the contest.

But Viktoria Plzeň, featuring Ghanaian forward Prince Kwabena Adu, refused to back down. They found an equaliser in the 80th minute, ensuring the points were shared in an entertaining encounter.

‎For Tetteh, the performance adds to what has already been a landmark period in his career. Late last year, he made history by becoming only the second Black player to represent the Greek national team since Daniel Batista’s naturalisation in 1994.

On a night of goals and drama, Tetteh once again underlined his growing stature, not only as a key figure for Panathinaikos, but also as a symbol of change and progress in football.
