The Office of the Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has debunked a series of campaign-style posters circulating on social media that suggest he is preparing to contest the flagbearership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a statement signed by the Minister’s Secretary, Hashmin Mohammed, the Office described the materials as false, deceptive, and unauthorised, stressing that they did not originate from Mr. Iddrisu or anyone acting on his behalf.

“The Office wishes to state unequivocally that these posters did not originate from Hon. Haruna Iddrisu or his office,” the statement said, urging the public to disregard the claims and treat them with “the utmost contempt they deserve.”

It further emphasised that neither the Minister nor his official team had any involvement in producing or circulating the posters.

According to the statement, Mr. Iddrisu remains focused on his responsibilities as Minister for Education and as a Member of Parliament, and is not engaged in any internal party leadership contest at this time.

The Office also disclosed that the Tamale South MP is currently in Lusaka, Zambia, accompanying President John Dramani Mahama on official engagements. During the visit, he is said to be working closely with the President to advance the government’s Reset Ghana agenda, particularly in driving reforms and programmes within the education sector.

The public has therefore been cautioned against attaching any credibility to the circulating posters, which the Office described as misleading and entirely unfounded.
