Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has given his assessment of the team's ongoing development in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, acknowledging that while progress is being made, they have yet to reach their full potential.

The Phobians endured a tough start to the season, suffering back-to-back defeats in their opening matches against Basake Holy Stars and Heart of Lions.

However, since those early setbacks, the team has regained some stability, recording two wins, two losses, and three draws across seven games. This has left Hearts of Oak in ninth place on the league table with nine points.

Reflecting on their most recent match, a 0-0 draw against Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf, Ouattara shared that although his squad is improving, there’s still room for growth.

He rated the team's current performance at 55%, underscoring that they are in the process of adapting to his tactical approach.

"I’m pleased with how the players are adjusting to the game strategies. We’re making progress, but we’re still only at about 55% of where I believe we can be. We’ll continue working hard," Ouattara said post-match.

The next challenge for Hearts of Oak comes in the form of league leaders Bibiani GoldStars, whom they will face at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Ouattara and his team will be hoping to build on their recent performances and climb higher in the standings with a win against the table-toppers.
