Hearts of Oak embark on Togo pre-season tour ahead of 2024/25 season

Accra Hearts of Oak, one of Ghana's most storied football clubs, have departed for Togo to continue their pre-season preparations for the 2024/25 football season.

The team, affectionately known as the 'Phobians,' commenced their journey this morning, traveling by road with a full squad of 31 players, including ten new signings.

The pre-season tour will see the team in Togo, where they are set to face various friendly opponents, including a fixture against the Togolese champions ASKO Kara.

The official date for this match will be announced in due course.

Among the notable players making the trip are Steven Appiah Asare, recently signed from Legon Cities, and Albert Kwasi Amanfo, who has been promoted from Auroras.

Both players will be looking to make a significant impact and establish themselves as key contributors for the upcoming season.

Coach Aboubakar Ouattara is optimistic about the pre-season tour, emphasizing the importance of this period for assessing the squad and fine-tuning preparations.

"This pre-season is crucial for us to evaluate our players and ensure we are well-prepared for the new season," Ouattara said. "We aim to give all players an opportunity to prove their worth."
