Accra Hearts of Oak have paid tribute to the late former Minister for Youth and Sports, E.T Mensah who passed on Sunday night.
E.T Mensah was a staunch supporter of the rainbow club and coincidentally, the club's most successful reign came while he was Sports Minister including the famous CAF Champions League in 2000.
The club took to X formerly Twitter to commiserate with the former politician who passed on at the age of 77-years.
“RIP. Our condolences to the family of our former player and former Minister of Sports, Hon. E.T. Mensah, who has been called to glory. Safe journey to your maker. RIP, sir,” the club wrote on Twitter.
E.T. Mensah, as he was affectionately known, held the distinction of being Ghana's first Minister of Youth and Sports during the Fourth Republic.

He served under the leadership of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings and held this position from 1993 to 2001.
The former Prampram legislator is one of the longest-serving Minister for Sports a position he held with poise and admiration.
In addition to his role in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Honourable E.T. Mensah also served as Minister of Education and Minister of Employment and Social Welfare during his tenure with the National Democratic Party government.
Following his departure from Parliament in 2016, he continued to contribute to Ghanaian governance as a member of the Council of State.
