Vincent Odotei Sowah, a board member of Hearts of Oak, has strongly refuted claims that the club's players are not well taken care of.
Addressing recent speculations in the local media about the club's management, Odotei provided insights into the measures in place to support the players and emphasized their commitment to the welfare of the team.
Odotei, alongside Alhaji Akambi and other top members of the club, has faced scrutiny from fans who attribute the club's recent poor performance to perceived management issues.
Seeking to clarify the situation, Odotei expressed confidence in the board's actions, assuring fans that Hearts of Oak is on the path to improvement.
One key aspect Odotei highlighted was the financial well-being of the players.
He stated, "We have players who hadn't travelled outside of Ghana before, and now they're building houses and buying cars. Our players are well-paid, and we prioritize their welfare.
I recall a video which was circulating just before the season showing Hearts of Oak players arriving at their hostel with their cars."
The board member's comments aim to dispel notions that the club is neglecting its players and failing to provide proper support.
By pointing to tangible outcomes such as players' ability to invest in homes and cars, Odotei aims to reassure fans about the positive impact of the board's efforts.
Hearts of Oak currently has three wins, seven draws, and three losses in their opening thirteen matches of the season, placing them 8th on the league table with 16 points.
The upcoming match against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko adds extra significance to the club's efforts to turn their season around.
