Severe rains that swept through parts of the Eastern Region on March 14, 2026, caused widespread power outages, leaving homes, businesses, and critical facilities without electricity.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) said the storm disrupted sections of its power distribution network, affecting electricity supply across several districts in the region.

In a statement, the company indicated that engineers were immediately deployed to assess the extent of the damage and begin repair works, stressing that restoration teams were working assiduously to restore supply as quickly as possible.

ECG also urged customers experiencing outages within their homes or businesses to report the situation through its contact centre at 0302611611, visit the nearest ECG office, or engage via its official social media platform, @ECGghOfficial.

The power distributor apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured the public that efforts were ongoing to restore normal electricity supply while monitoring the network for further weather-related disruptions.

ECG further reminded residents to observe safety precautions during storms, advising the public to avoid fallen power lines and report any electrical hazards immediately to prevent accidents.
